We have had a great start to Reception in Parrots Class!

 

We are doing so well with our learning in class and have made lots of new friends. 

This week we are continuing our topic of Who Am I? and we are focusing on Houses and Homes. We will be looking at different types of home and talking about our own homes. 

We will also be learning about the story of The Three Little Pigs. 

In Maths we will be continuing to learn about sorting as well as moving on to recognising patterns, and learning about measures. 

We will be continuing our daily phonics sessions and learning our first set of sounds 's,a,t,p'.

Reminders 

Children come to school in their P.E kits every MONDAY and TUESDAY.

Reading books are changed every Tuesday and Friday.

Bring a school book bag everyday and check this when you are at home.

Please read with your child everyday and sign their diary.

Children may bring a water bottle to school (but should only bring plain water).

Please send a spare set of named uniform and underwear for your child to keep in school.

 

Please sign your child's reading diary every time they share a book with you at home. Books will be changed every Tuesday and Friday. 

They will receive a sticker on their card every time they read at home and they will then receive prizes for the cards they complete!

Please also help us to help the children by reinforcing the sounds being taught at school. Phonics is the method by which we teach reading and writing. Here are some videos which demonstrate the correct pronunciations.
